This is my first Tell Me Thursday Post. Yesterday, for Wordless Wednesday, I posted a short video of my son during his Aikido (Martial Arts) Testing.
The story behind it …
Well, my son has been taking Aikido classes for 3 years now and every few months, they get tested to see if they can be promoted to the next higher level. He is currently a purple belt - but before you move up to the next level - you get 2 stripes on your current belt. He passed his test and got 1 stripe on his purple belt. Maybe, 3-4 months from now, he’ll take another test and get another stripe and after another 4 months, another test and be bumped up to the next color belt (sorry, not too sure what color that might be). Anyways, we are so proud of him. This has been a great extra-curricular activity for him - awesome exercise twice a week. He gets to burn that energy that he has so much of. He gets to meet new friends and of course learns self defense which is always helpful. If you have kids, I suggest you involve them in an activity that they like - ex. Martial arts, soccer, basketball, choir … it will be very beneficial for them.
