Monday Mommy Tip - Clear Bathroom Clutter

My tip this Monday is on “Clearing Bathroom Clutter”. Get rid of bath and shower things that you no longer use, including the ones you have not used more than 4 weeks. If you have extra toiletries, you could move it to a guest bathroom. If you have no extra bathroom, pour extra toiletries to travel size containers. If you have too much extra toiletries, why not donate the rest.

Monday Mommy Tip - Write it Down!

My Monday Mommy Tip is about New Year’s Resolutions - Write it Down! Own your goals and resolutions. For me, when I write it down and place it where I can see it, it seems more REAL - like something that I have committed myself to. Another tip I just want to add is - Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many resolutions - go with your best three and stick with them!

Monday Mommy Tip - Make Store Bought Look Homemade

It’s the holiday season and whether you like it or not - people expect gifts - lol. Well, here is a quick tip that I’m sure you can use for the holiday season. Make store bought goodies look like you made it from home. What am I talking about? Baked goodies! Go to your local grocery store, buy some cookies from the bakery (not the commercially packaged ones like orea’s or chips ahoy) re-package them in nice holiday baggies and voila - instant “homemade” treats. You will now have “sweet gifts” for neighbors, teachers, friends, the postman and co-workers.

Monday Mommy Tip - How to tell if you need to let go

If an item in your home has accumulated a thick layer of dust, it’s a sign that it is something you no longer use - it’s time to give it up, give it to another person who will have better use of it or find a new home for that item.

Monday Mommy Tip - Shopping Strategies

If you are thinking of shopping for NEW items, do so only to REPLACE items that are already worn out or those that really need to be replaced. This saves you money and also minimizes the clutter in your home.

If you are itching to shop, go shopping ONLY if you need something in particular. It helps to make a list and make sure you stick to it - it helps minimize clutter too and saves you from spending some dough.

Monday Mommy Tip - Consolidate Tasks

Did you know that you can FREE up some time by simply consolidating similar tasks? Here are a couple of examples:

- Checking email (sending or replying) - do this twice a day only instead of doing it all day.
- Prepare your grocery list and shop only once a week instead of every day

By grouping similar tasks, you are able to achieve tasks quickly.

Stagger wake-up times for your kids who use the bathroom in the morning to get ready for school. This is especially helpful if they share one bathroom or if you only have one bathroom in the house. This will minimize the fighting and arguing in the morning and everyone will have a better morning.

Monday Mommy Tip - Control Clutter with Yard Sale

You can control clutter by throwing a yard sale. This is especially helpful if you have little kids because you know how quickly they accumulate toys. Give your little ones an incentive to sell and let go of toys they no longer use and play with anymore by letting them keep the money they make from the sales of their old toys. This can be a fun activity that you guys can do together - going through all the toys and figuring out which ones they have outgrown. This is a good way to teach kids about business and money. This is also a great way to control the clutter in your kids room.

Use a spare ice cube tray to organize your jewelry. You can use each cube for a pair of earrings or assign a cube for a fine chain necklace or bracelet. You can stack the ice cube trays on top of each other too - for more storage.
