Thanks so much for the prize Marie and Annette! Some suggestions for entering contests: Leaving a comment is easiest, but blog posts are essential as it spreads the word and links. I think this scavenger hunt was not as popular because people wouldn’t normally post such a picture and it would be hard to “work it in” as a regular post (I tried to make the best of it). It could also be that since it was a video post, there is the initial hurdle of having the video viewed to begin with and then not having an easy reference to check back afterwards (i.e. text with contest rules). In terms of duration, 2-3 weeks is best. One week is too short and one month is too long. People will have forgotten about it!

It was a really fun contest Marie but I agree that maybe including text as well as the video might up the response rate.

I also think that people will act based on the prize value - i.e., they’ll take more steps to answer if the prize is something they see as valuable.

And I agree that requiring some type of link back is a must just for the viral-ness of the whole thing. The more people who know about it, the more people you have to enter!
