Monday Mommy Tip - How to remove candle wax on carpet

I am trying to see how this memes work so I thought I’d try out - I set one up - Called “Monday Mommy Tip”. I know it is Wednesday today but I am eager to try it out so here goes …

Monday Mommy Tip - How to remove candle wax on carpet
If hot wax from candles fall on your carpet, an easy way to take it off is to use your iron. Let the wax set a bit until it is dry. Plug your iron on and you could lay wads of paper towel or a kitchen rag/towel over the wax on the carpet and just lay the iron on topof it moving it back and forth for a few seconds - checking occassionally to see if the wax comes off. You may have to refold your tissue or rag/towel over a few times so it kinda sucks up your wax. That’s it - soon your wax stain in your carpet will be gone.

Feel free to share a tip today and then we’ll get on track on Monday!

Fruit flies a problem? Just mix up 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar and 3 drops of dawn dishsoap in a small dish and set out near your fruit. The fruit flies will be drawn to the vinegar and when they dive in for a drink, they’ll stick because of the dish soap. It works!

It is hard to fit exercise into your day with young children. I wear a pedometer and strive to reach 10,000 steps per day. Activties such as playing outside with my son or housecleaning really add up! Not only that but I find myself moving more just to get in more steps each day (such as pacing the floor while talking on the phone). Get yourself a pedometer and you will be getting the exercise you need without having to follow a structured routine!

The hot iron works GREAT to remove wax, but you need to be aware that it may not remove the COLOR from the wax (especially red or green). You’ll need to call a dye-removal specialist (some carpet cleaners offer this service). Don’t ask me how I know :)
