Hey you! Welcome back!

In my book – there are only a few holidays that are worth jumping up and down for. Halloween is one of them. Why? Simply because it is FUN. When else are you allowed to decorate your place and really use your creativity in trying to spook others? Halloween is special because it’s a time when I can be creative with my family – we get to have fun together decorating, making costumes and Halloween crafts and preparing awesome treats for our guests.

Making crafts during Halloween is in itself so much fun and exciting! My kids usually do the decorations, and interestingly, the spiders they make only get bigger and scarier with every passing year! In this blog post I will share some awesome Halloween decoration tips with you that are sure to prove useful to you and your family!

Tip#1: Dare to re-create a “graveyard” in your front lawn. I am surprised when I see people with large front yards attached to their houses forgetting to spice them up even though they make their houses scary. You don’t need a lot of props to do this: just some common Halloween decoration props such as spiders, goblins, headstones, etc.

Tip#2: Don’t limit your Halloween decorations to your yard only! Don’t forget to decorate your front entrance so that it looks like a scary and haunted house! Let the guests get the shock of their life when they notice the scary spiders or the ghoulish goblins you have strategically placed in your house!

Tip#3: Keep the lighting decent. While you should use as minimal artificial lighting as possible, you should make sure that the paths that lead to the graveyard or your house are not too dark. You would not want guests to trip and fall!

Tip#4: Don’t forget to use some cool Halloween Music and sound effects along with the Halloween decorations. Left by themselves, the props would hardly appear as scary as they would when accompanied by haunting music. Thankfully you can get cheap musical CDs on creepy music from your local store so it should not be a big deal for you!

Tip#5: This is not exactly a Halloween decoration tip but I felt the need to include it here anyway! Tricking and treating is a popular Halloween activity, especially for kids. However, kids can visit only so many houses within a day, which is why they need to be selective about the houses they visit.
